Tire stores steer me away from special order tires?

Why do places like Discount Tire and Tires Plus steer me away from special order towards the ones they have in stock? Do they get a special commission on the ones in stock? Is it in their best interest to steer me away from special order tires? Do they make more money on "in stock" tires?|||yes they like to sell you the tires they make the most money off of....go to tirerack.com and get prices from them and then you knw a little better of what you should be paying|||If the special order tires don't require immediate payment then it's because they want to make the sale. Also, we used to have people order the tires and never come back to have them put on and I would have to send them back to the manufacturer... it was a waste of time and money for us (Sam's Club)|||Get the tires you want.

They sell the crap they have in stock because most of the time the are specials and it is hard to shop em and get best price.

go to tire rack they rate tires and they will recommend where to have them installed.|||Because they want to make a sale today, and they want to sell what they have in stock. It costs them money to keep tires stored, so it's to their advantage to sell the ones they have instead of ordering others.
