How will driving with one tire a slightly larger size mess up a car?

i've been a little strapped for money and needed a new tire. i got used tire from discount for a cheap price. my truck has 235 75R16 but they didnt have one and the closest thing was a 245 75R 16.so how screwed am i ?|||it dont but it wil not pass a m o t like that|||Its not a huge difference. It'd be like driving with a sort of low tire. Just get a matching one as soon as you can.|||That tire size differance wont be noticable under normal driving conditions just dont use 4X4|||It won't hurt as the 245 is a little wider of a tire and that won't hurt as long as when you turn the steering wheel it doesn't rub and the wheel well and you would hear it if it did, so if that is fine than the tire is fine.

It won;'t look real nice but if you don't care than who cares.|||According to the size ther is about 1.5mm of difference. If you drive long it will cause if you have a lsd to wear faster. If not it just makes the differential work a little harder but as long as good fluid will not hurt it. No it should not be a problem at all for the short term of a week or so. i have done that for more than a month at the time.

Oh if on the front it might just make it feel a little different but not be a problem niether.|||What happens is you have ONE axle spinning faster than the other one if the odd sizes are on the drive wheels. The planetary gears in the differential can handle this for a while, but they will wear out if you leave it that way for an extended period.

How long? I don't know for sure.

Put the odd size tire on the NON driving end of the car.
